At KEUS, we don't just automate homes — we elevate how you live.

Yes! KEUS smart home systems are fully compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, giving you complete control using your voice or app — whether you're at home or away.

Keus is an Indian smart home company that designs, engineers and manufactures complete home automation systems - lighting, climate, curtains, media and security - controlled from wall-mounted Smart Consoles, a mobile app, or your voice. Founded in 2017 and based in Hyderabad, Keus builds the entire stack in-house: the hardware, the firmware, the Zigbee operating system, the cloud and the app. Ardeo by Keus is its architectural lighting brand.

Keus products are engineered entirely in India, and virtually the entire Keus range is manufactured in India, in Hyderabad. Keus designs every product in-house and controls the full ecosystem, from hardware and firmware to the app, cloud and after-sales support, working with specialist contract manufacturers for production execution.

Keus owns every layer of the system, from hardware and firmware through to the app, cloud, diagnostics and after-sales support, with a single in-house engineering team behind all of it. That means one point of accountability rather than coordinating between a hub vendor, a device vendor and an installer when something needs fixing.

Zigbee is a wireless communication protocol, similar in concept to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, but built specifically for low-power, low-data smart devices such as switches, sensors, lights and locks. It sends information as digital data over radio waves rather than as a continuous analogue signal, which is what makes a large, reliable mesh of devices possible across a whole home.

In a Zigbee mesh, each powered device also relays signals for its neighbours, so coverage builds up across the home rather than depending on one central transmitter. There is no minimum distance between devices. For reliable communication, Keus recommends a maximum of 3 to 4 metres between adjacent devices in a typical indoor environment with walls, extending to around 10 metres in open spaces with clear line of sight. Heavy soundproofing or acoustic treatment can weaken the mesh between rooms, though control within a room is unaffected; where that happens, repeaters and extenders are added.

The hub is the central brain of a Keus home - it manages and coordinates every connected device. The current generation is Sentinel X, now standard in all new Keus installations: passively cooled with no fan or vents, completely silent, and engineered for Indian power conditions with surge immunity, voltage stability and Level 3 ESD protection. It needs a central, accessible location with a wired LAN connection through a dedicated network switch, and must be on UPS backup so it stays online through power transitions.

A Sentinel Hub typically supports 150 or more devices. The exact capacity depends on the specific site, so the device plan is confirmed during solutioning. Larger homes use more than one hub.

For multi-floor homes, Keus recommends one Sentinel Hub per floor, connected over wired LAN, rather than stretching a single hub across levels. Where there are multiple hubs they operate as a single cluster, so you never see them separately in the app - the whole home appears as one system.

Yes. Your lights, switches, fans and scenes continue to work locally over your home network even with no internet. An active internet connection is only needed for the initial setup, for remote access through the app when you are away from home, for voice assistant control, and for system updates.

When power is restored, the system returns to the exact state it was in when the power went out, in three layers. Lights, fans and connected loads restore within one to two seconds. Smart Consoles and Scene Wizards are fully operational within seconds, because room-level control runs locally. The hub and Zigbee mesh then re-establish across the home - 27 seconds on Sentinel X, the current generation, or up to two minutes on the earlier Sentinel Hub. During that window whole-home scenes and app control are briefly unavailable, while your in-room controls keep working throughout.

With UPS backup, the Sentinel Hub does not reboot when power switches over to a generator or inverter, which keeps the system online through the transition and makes it significantly more robust. Keus recommends UPS backup for all smart devices, and for the Wi-Fi router and access points too.

No. Keus is deliberately decentralised, with no single point of failure that can take out a whole room or home. Each Smart Console acts as the brain for the room it is in, and most rooms have more than one. If the hub is down, the app will not work, but your Smart Consoles and Scene Wizards continue to control the home normally.

The hub uses a hardware watchdog: a dedicated physical circuit, independent of the main processor and running on its own clock. The processor must send it a regular electrical heartbeat. If that heartbeat stops because the software has crashed or hung, the watchdog physically resets the processor. In practice, if the hub hangs at 3am while you are away, it reboots itself within seconds without anyone unplugging anything.

Keus devices use Zigbee, which emits radio frequency signals for communication. These emissions are extremely low compared with everyday household devices such as smartphones, Wi-Fi routers and Bluetooth earbuds. Zigbee is designed for low-power, low-data communication and transmits in short bursts rather than continuous streams, so the RF energy it contributes is minimal relative to the levels already present in any modern home.

No. Keus does not centrally store your camera, lock or other device data. What is held locally on the Keus gateway in your home is limited to what the system needs to run: device pairing information, device configuration and network configuration. For certain video door phones, event clips are also stored on the gateway. Where a proper NVR is installed, video footage is retrieved directly from that NVR.

The Keus Zigbee network is not openly accessible and devices cannot freely join it. Keus runs a proprietary application layer on top of standard Zigbee, so every device on the network is validated and tested before it is allowed on. A generic or compromised Zigbee device cannot join the mesh and act as a way in.

Keus runs a Network Management System as part of its Mission Control platform, used to run remote diagnostics, troubleshoot issues and push over-the-air updates. This is what keeps systems across thousands of Keus homes up to date and in good health, and is how many issues are resolved without a site visit.

Yes. In the Keus app, guests can be granted restricted access to specific areas only. Admin users have access to the entire home, with the exception of security controls.

The Keus OS keeps daily build and database backups with multiple redundancies built in. If a Sentinel Hub is damaged beyond repair, your home's specific configuration can be restored onto a new Sentinel Hub by the Keus operations team. Depending on your warranty or AMC status and the cause of the damage, there may be commercial implications for the hardware itself.

Smart Console is the name for every wall-mounted control panel Keus makes. It sits beneath two product lines: Ethos, the established architecture used across the majority of Keus homes, and Elemental, a CNC-machined aluminium console engineered for luxury and architect-led projects. Consoles are available in 2-gang, 4-gang, 6-gang and 8-gang formats.

Nothing in what they can control. Ethos and Elemental are functionally identical and both work with the entire Keus ecosystem. The difference is entirely material and physical. Ethos is made from top-grade polycarbonate, chosen for strength, heat resistance and durability. Elemental is machined from solid aluminium billet, brushed and anodized. If you ask whether the more expensive one does more: it does not do more, it is more.

Each Elemental faceplate starts as a solid block of 6063-T6 aluminium billet, not cast or extruded, and is CNC-machined to sub-millimetre tolerances. It is then mechanically brushed for a fine directional texture and fingerprint resistance, and anodized to one of four curated finishes. It is the same manufacturing approach used for premium hardware, watch cases and high-end audio equipment.

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that thickens and hardens the aluminium's own natural oxide layer. Because the finish becomes part of the metal rather than a coating applied on top of it, it cannot peel the way paint can. It is also what gives Elemental its corrosion resistance and its colour consistency across units. The anodized layer on Elemental is 10 to 15 microns thick.

It is Elemental's signature design feature. The icons, indicators and touch zones are invisible in the metal surface when the console is not in use, and appear to float beneath the metal once activated. Traditional printed icons look applied to a surface; Dead Front keeps the face reading as a single, uninterrupted piece of metal.

Keus Smart Consoles are rated IP43: protected against splashes and light moisture exposure. They are designed for normal indoor environments and are not rated for submersion or sustained direct water, such as a shower spraying onto the console.

Yes. The console functions normally with wet hands and there is no risk of shock. The high-voltage AC circuit is isolated within the console and never reaches the front panel. Drying your hands first is still good practice with any electronic product. If an unusual quantity of water has reached the console, switch off the MCB on that circuit and contact Keus support.

Yes. The anodized finish on Elemental is specifically well suited to coastal and high-humidity environments, and Keus has deployed consoles across a wide range of Indian climate zones in more than 5,000 homes without a service complaint attributable to monsoon conditions. Occasional bathroom steam is fine. What the consoles are not built for, like any indoor electronics, is direct water ingress into the internals.

Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth. This handles dust and fingerprints, which covers almost all real-world cleaning, with no moisture risk. For a stubborn mark, a barely damp cloth, wrung out so no visible moisture transfers, followed immediately by drying. Never spray anything directly onto the console and never let liquid pool around the button edges or seams. Avoid bleach, acidic cleaners, solvents and abrasives.

Keus products are CE, RoHS, WPC and BIS certified, as applicable and relevant to each product category. The Ethos and Elemental console series are CE and RoHS certified.

Essential is the Keus line of conventional, non-smart switches and sockets: the ordinary outlets and switches that sit alongside the smart keypads for charging a phone or powering a lamp. Most automation brands design only the smart keypad and leave the rest of the wall to whatever the electrician sources locally, which is how a beautifully designed console ends up next to a mismatched generic switch. Essential exists to close that gap.

Because the socket beside your bedside console is just as permanent and visible a part of the room as the console itself. Essential is built in-house, on the same tooling and in the same finishes as Ethos and Elemental, so the keypad and the socket beside it belong to the same design story. There are Essential ranges for both the Ethos and the Elemental lines.

A Faux Plate is a non-smart blanking plate module used within a 3M or 6M faceplate to cover an unused module slot, so the faceplate keeps its finished look even when not every slot has a switch or socket in it.

The Scene Wizard is a battery-powered wireless scene controller. Because it needs no wiring and no depth, it can be surface-mounted on any finish including marble, wood, glass or concrete, using adhesive or screws. It is particularly useful where a Smart Console cannot be installed, and adds a second point of scene control in rooms that already have one.

No. A Scene Wizard gives you scene control, but a Smart Console is still required in the room: it is what actually switches and dims the connected loads, and it acts as the area master for that space. The Scene Wizard complements the console rather than replacing it.

The Smart IR is the Keus infrared controller. It lets you operate any IR-based equipment - air conditioners, televisions, projectors, amplifiers - from the Keus app and from scenes. It measures three inches in diameter and 1.5 inches high, needs a clear line of sight to the device's IR receiver between two and eight feet away, and runs on a dedicated socket that is never switched off. It is available in black and white.

They solve two different air conditioning situations. The Smart IR controls standalone split and cassette units, which are operated by their own infrared remote. The Keus HVAC Controller handles centralised VRF and VRV systems, which need two-way digital communication rather than infrared. The quickest way to know which you need: is the unit standalone with its own remote, or part of a centralised system?

The True Presence Sensor uses mmWave radar and detects micro-movements such as breathing, typing or reading. The Motion Sensor uses PIR and detects significant movement such as walking past. They solve different problems rather than being a basic and a better version of the same thing.

Use the True Presence Sensor in rooms where people sit still for long periods: living rooms, bedrooms and home offices. Because it reads micro-movements as continued presence, it stops lights switching off on someone who is reading or working. Use the Motion Sensor in transient spaces like corridors, staircases, washrooms and walk-in closets, where all that matters is whether someone is passing through.

A sensor triggers a single circuit, which can be a group of lights, an exhaust fan, or both, up to around 300W. It triggers on motion or presence depending on the model, and only below a light level you set, so it will not switch on when there is already enough daylight. You also set how long the circuit stays on after the last detection. The sensor itself is not shown as a device in the Keus app - it drives its circuit directly rather than being something you monitor or control.

Pryzma is a Keus-designed pedestal for the iPad that runs Keus Home Station. It holds the iPad at the optimal viewing angle, charges it through integrated USB-C, and presents home control as a design object rather than an accessory. It comes in two variants: Pryzma Pedestal for surfaces, and Pryzma Wall for walls. The front piece, Alcantara cradle, charging behaviour, finishes and on-screen experience are identical across both.

Lighting, including dimming, tunable white and RGB; ceiling fans, both AC and BLDC; curtains and blinds; air conditioning; media and home theatre; door locks; cameras and video door phones; gates; outdoor lighting; and high-load appliances such as water heaters and pumps through a contactor. All of it runs from the Smart Consoles, the Keus app, scenes, schedules and voice.

Yes, both types. Standard AC ceiling fans run on a dedicated Zigbee Fan Regulator, built specifically as fan control hardware rather than a lighting dimmer repurposed for fans. BLDC and DC fans use the Keus DC Fan Controller, which is purpose-built for them. Fan speed can be part of any scene, the same way lights and curtains are.

The Keus DC Fan Controller sits in the trap door at the fan point and works by learning and replaying the radio signals from the fan's own remote. It does not switch the fan line with a relay and does not modify the fan's internals - the original receiver stays connected exactly as the manufacturer fitted it. The result is full speed control from the app and console, with four speed levels plus off.

No. Because the Keus DC Fan Controller works by replicating the remote's radio signal rather than removing or modifying the fan's original receiver, the fan's manufacturer warranty remains valid.

Yes, using compatible dimmable drivers - either Keus Zigbee drivers or DALI drivers. Keus achieves sub-1% logarithmic dimming, which is smoother and goes lower than the linear dimming typical of generic smart bulbs. Phase-cut dimming drivers are not part of the standard Keus ecosystem and are not recommended.

Usually yes, but it depends on the driver inside them. The simplest route is to buy decorative lighting that comes with DALI drivers, or to confirm with your lighting vendor that the fixture can be dimmed. Keus tests dimming compatibility on a sample before you commit to a bulk purchase. Plan decorative lighting early, since many pieces need ceiling support and wiring provision.

Yes. Downlights can be configured as tunable white using DALI drivers, and strip lights can be controlled through Zigbee with compatible drivers, subject to compatibility testing. Keus also supports RGB and addressable lighting control.

No. Lux-based lighting control that adjusts automatically to daylight levels is not currently offered as part of the Keus solution. Sensors can be set to trigger only below a light threshold, but continuous daylight-linked dimming is not available.

Yes. Keus supplies both the motors and the tracks, designed and tested together. One Smart Console can be mapped to control up to four curtains or blinds individually, and beyond that all the curtains in a space can be opened or closed together as a group. If a room has more than one console, different curtains can be mapped to each.

The Keus slider curtain motor supports up to 6 metres in length and 40 kg in weight. Roller and roman blind motors support up to 2.5 metres and 10 kg. For spans beyond these, the solution is sectioned into multiple tracks. The Keus curtain motor runs at under 19 dB, which is effectively silent in a bedroom.

Yes. Curved tracks need a minimum radius of roughly 12 to 20 inches so the internal belt and carriers travel smoothly, with at least a 12-inch gap at a 90-degree turn. There is no maximum - wide arcs, semi-circles and large circular layouts over three metres are all possible. Curved tracks are made to order from your curve detailing and need around two weeks' preparation.

Yes. Standalone split and cassette units are controlled through the Smart IR. Centralised VRF and VRV systems are controlled through the Keus HVAC Controller or CoolMaster, depending on the brand, giving individual indoor-unit control and scheduling. A single HVAC Controller can handle a system with fewer than 32 indoor units. One Smart Console can also run more than one air conditioner: the AC button triggers a scene that sets one, two or more units to a chosen temperature, fan speed and mode, and a double-click turns them off.

Yes, Keus integrates Yale smart locks through the Keus Yale Zigbee Module. Locks supplied through Keus come with the required Zigbee module and licence, and are separately validated for the correct chipset and firmware so they integrate reliably. There is no limit on the number of Yale locks a single Sentinel Hub can handle.

Yes. Keus integrates certified cameras and video door phones into the Keus app. Cameras should be purchased through Keus so they run the tested, compatible firmware. Video door phones need PoE network cabling from the outdoor unit to the indoor display, up to a maximum run of 100 metres.

Yes, through certified gate motor brands under the Works with Keus programme. Because gate motors vary widely, your gate motor's data sheet must be checked with Keus before purchase, and your gate vendor should be connected with the Keus team so integration and wiring are confirmed in advance.

Yes, by pairing a Keus relay with an appropriately rated external contactor. The relay does the triggering, the contactor safely handles the heavy current. The Smart Relay 6 DIN Rail can directly control motors up to 1 HP; beyond that a contactor is required. A lift can be put on a schedule this way, which also adds a layer of access control where it opens onto a common area.

Smart Consoles handle up to 3000W on specific heating channels, but heavy motors, lifts and large AC units can draw currents beyond that or create electrical inrush noise. A contactor takes that electrical stress off the Keus hardware, which protects the long-term reliability of the automation system and the safe operation of the appliance. The contactor and the high-voltage cabling are supplied and installed by your electrician.

Yes. Keus Deep Media lets you control the projector, amplifier, screen and sources from the app and from scenes. Television control works over the network rather than through infrared, and is supported on Sony, LG, Samsung and any TV running Google TV, with compatibility varying by model. On Apple TV and LG webOS, Keus also supports two-way sync: pause the film on the original remote and the lights come up on their own; press play again and they dim back down. On other brands you get full control through the Keus app, but not that automatic lighting sync.

Yes, through the Smart Relay 6 for on/off control, up to 100W per loop, housed in an IP68 enclosure installed in a shaded, ventilated and accessible location. Indoor keypads and consoles are not suitable for outdoor placement.

Absolutely. Keus Deep Media is designed to coexist with your original remotes - you can keep using the Apple TV or LG remote exactly as you do now. On those two platforms, using the physical remote will also trigger the automatic lighting changes.

Keus integrates with Sonos for multi-room audio. Sonos covers every kind of space: bookshelf speakers such as the Era 100 and the portable Move, the higher-output Era 300, Arc and Beam soundbars, Sub models for low end, and the Sonos Amp and Port for driving an existing amplifier or bringing streaming services into one. That full range, together with clean integration through the Keus media controller, is why it is the platform Keus builds around.

Some things fall outside the Keus ecosystem: gas leak detection, rain sensors, water level controllers, heat pumps, microwave ovens, washing machines, mosquito mesh systems, rolling shutters, steam bath controllers beyond simple on/off power, and standard power sockets. Smoke sensors are not supported today but advanced life-safety and security sensing is in active development.

No. Keus does not integrate smart white goods. Many appliance brands have added app connectivity, but these integrations rarely add real value in a home, so Keus only builds integrations where the result is genuinely useful and can be relied on.

On/off control of the whole system is possible using a Smart Relay 6 DIN Rail with a contactor. However, these systems come with their own control panels that cannot be deeply integrated, so you would still set temperature and programmes on the manufacturer's panel.

Yes. In the Alexa or Google Home app, search for the Keus skill and select it, then enter your registered phone number and the OTP you receive. Once verified, the primary home on that account is paired automatically and available in both. Alexa supports up to 300 devices per home; Google Home has no defined device limit.

Ask Keus before you buy, not after. Keus runs a Works with Keus programme covering certified fans, locks, gate motors, networking, video door phones and cameras. For anything not already on the list, share the brand, model, a photo of the product and, for remote-controlled items, the physical remote. Validation typically takes around seven working days.

Because every product on that list has been tested by Keus engineering before being certified, which is what lets Keus guarantee how the system behaves. Each category is also chosen for what it has to be good at. Yale for locks and BAS-IP for video door phones, because access control is security-sensitive. Honeywell for cameras, where build quality and privacy matter most. Grandstream for networking, chosen across hundreds of installations for its commissioning and remote diagnostic capability. The list grows as new products are tested, and brands occasionally drop off it for reasons outside Keus's control, such as changes in what is available in the Indian market.

Yes, through a built-in HomeKit bridge with no additional hardware required. The Keus bridge appears in the Apple Home app and is paired using the HomeKit code found in the Keus app under Settings. Once paired, supported devices can be controlled with Siri, scenes and automations in Apple Home. Each bridge supports up to 149 devices, and more than one bridge can be used in a larger home. Whether an integrated Yale lock also appears in Apple Home depends on the specific lock model.

Not yet, and that is a deliberate decision rather than a gap. Keus runs a professionally architected Zigbee mesh, commissioned and supported end to end. Matter is still maturing: four years after launch it continues to face ecosystem fragmentation, advanced features that stay locked to the manufacturer's own app, and real-world reliability issues tied to its Thread networking layer. Keus has a roadmap to integrate Matter once the standard reaches steady-state reliability and a strong mix of Matter products is available in India.

It is still doable, but with compromises. Smart Consoles need 3-inch deep gang boxes, and existing boxes often are not. Chipping walls or reopening false ceilings may be expensive or structurally impossible, existing wiring may not support everything you want, and ideal device locations may no longer be accessible. Expect higher cost and longer timelines from the rework. Wall panelling is an alternative to chipping, with its own cost and aesthetic implications.

Yes. A full Smart Console can be installed in a retrofit, subject to the existing gang boxes being suitable or your being willing to change them. To get the real experience rather than a compromised version, the LED drivers for your lights generally need to be changed to Keus Zigbee drivers, and some wiring and ceiling work is needed to bring fans and curtains in.

Because in professional home automation, openness carries costs a real deployment cannot absorb. A proprietary layer means every device on the network is validated, tested and tuned by the same team. That delivers predictable behaviour, true two-way state feedback, security at the stack level, one company accountable end to end, and over-the-air updates pushed to the whole installed base without coordinating across vendors.

Not at the device level. Keus maintains a curated network rather than accepting arbitrary third-party Zigbee devices. Keus does integrate with major ecosystems such as Alexa, Google Home and Sonos at the platform level, and does bring selected third-party Zigbee devices in after thorough vetting - the Yale lock bridge is one example.

No. For Ardeo lighting, installation is entirely the client's scope - Keus supplies the fixtures but does not fit them.

LAN cables, electrical power points, and UPS backup. For home automation orders, Keus shares a full site readiness checklist at the site handover meeting so you know exactly what needs to be in place. You will also need stable mains power and live internet on the day of installation, so the system can be configured and tested properly.

As early as possible. Engaging Keus during the early or planning stages of construction gives you seamless concealed installation with no visible wiring, correct placement of consoles, hubs and sensors, lower installation time and cost, far fewer coordination problems between your electrician, designer and the automation team, and maximum flexibility for future upgrades.

Two options. Wall panelling or cladding in wood, MDF or a decorative finish can create the 3-inch depth the console needs without touching the masonry. Alternatively, a Scene Wizard needs zero depth and no chipping and can be surface-mounted on any finish, though a room still needs its minimum complement of consoles and Zigbee devices for a reliable mesh.

Physical wiring and cabling is always the client's scope. Keus's scope is installation and commissioning of the automation products themselves. For networking, CCTV and video door phones, Keus commissions the equipment while cabling, wiring and electrical power sit with your team. Lock installation is also the client's scope, for security reasons.

Yes. UPS backup is mandatory for the Sentinel Hub - at minimum a small standalone UPS - and is required on the Smart Console circuit. Keus recommends putting all smart devices on backup, and the network rack too, so the system stays online through outages and fluctuations.

The Sentinel Hub connects over wired LAN through a dedicated network switch - not a PoE switch, and not Wi-Fi. Each hub needs one Cat6 drop terminating at the central network rack. Beyond that you need a good quality router and seamless Wi-Fi coverage across all floors for the app and voice control.

A trap door is an accessible hatch that houses automation controllers and LED drivers in the false ceiling. It exists so those devices can be reached for service after the ceiling is closed. An accessible ventilated cabinet or a wall-mounted access panel can serve the same purpose where a ceiling hatch would be visually intrusive.

The gateway can sit on a separate VLAN or subnet - a flat network is not required. For the app to talk directly to the hub locally, inter-VLAN routing needs to be enabled between the Keus VLAN and the one your phones use; without it the system still works but only over the internet. Only the main gateway needs a static IP; other hubs run on DHCP. Firewall ports are configured during commissioning.

No. Two separate things are happening on your network and band-steering affects neither. The hub connects over wired LAN, so Wi-Fi band preference is irrelevant to it. Keus switches, sensors and modules communicate over Zigbee 3.0 in the 2.4GHz band, but that is an independent mesh, not a Wi-Fi client connection. The app works over any connection your phone has, including mobile data.

Somewhere central, accessible and serviceable, with wired LAN and UPS backup. A wall or cabinet location is usually best. It can go in a ceiling only if it remains reachable through a trap door. It should never be sealed into a false ceiling, and it is not a Wi-Fi range extender - use proper access points for Wi-Fi coverage.

All Keus automation products carry a standard two-year warranty from the date of installation, as stated on your warranty certificate. It is included in the solution you purchase, not an add-on.

Repair or replacement of Keus products for manufacturing defects at no extra cost, all customer service and support calls relating to Keus products, and all necessary firmware and software updates, free of charge for the duration.

It depends on the curtain type. Six inches minimum for a single curtain, nine inches for two pleated curtains, and twelve inches for two ripple-fold curtains. Add three inches if a grazer light is going into the pelmet. A wooden pelmet or support is mandatory - it gives the track and motor the structural strength they need and allows the motor and wiring to be concealed.

It is technically possible, but the console is designed to be installed and used horizontally. A horizontal installation works better for day-to-day use and is the intended design.

They are group and device trigger buttons - a quick way to switch a group of lights or a single device without running a scene, useful for a brief look into a room. They are also a deliberate design decision: they give anyone standing at an unfamiliar console something that behaves like an ordinary switch, so the instinct to press it never takes them somewhere unexpected.

Yes, using a Global Scene Switch, which can trigger devices across the house from a single point without opening the app.

So you can switch the stair lighting on and off at the point you reach it, going both up and down, rather than walking to a switch elsewhere or relying only on motion. The landing console usually does more than the stairs too - it can control adjacent passages, corridors or lounges, and any blinds on staircase windows, so the automation experience continues through the staircase instead of stopping at it.

No. Zigbee compatibility on paper does not mean device-level compatibility with Keus. A Keus home runs as one engineered system rather than a mix of independently sourced devices. That is a deliberate design choice: assembling a smart home from best-of-breed devices across brands is the system integrator model, and it brings well-known reliability and serviceability problems, particularly after firmware updates on either side.

Three years against manufacturing defects, running from the date of shipping rather than the date of installation. The difference is deliberate: Keus does not install lighting fixtures, so shipping date is the only point it can consistently anchor to. Outdoor lighting carries two years from shipping, submersible or underwater lighting one year, and the LED drivers used with Ardeo fixtures two years from shipping.

Yes. An extended five-year warranty applies when Ardeo fixtures are paired with Keus Zigbee drivers. This extension applies to indoor lights only - outdoor and underwater fixtures keep their standard terms.

No. Third-party components included in a Keus quote and installed at site are covered by the respective manufacturer's own warranty terms. Keus is the single point of contact for Keus-supplied products; for third-party items, warranty and support sit with the original manufacturer.

No. Batteries and other consumable items are excluded from warranty coverage across all Keus solution categories. Consumables means anything that wears out or is used up through normal operation, as distinct from a component that fails because of a manufacturing defect.

The standard service level for an initial response is one working day from the time a complaint is logged. Keus runs remote diagnostics first, and many issues are resolved without anyone visiting. Where a site visit is needed, field engineers are deployed within 24 working hours in cities Keus operates in directly, and within four working days for outstation locations. Maintenance is carried out by trained technicians using industry-recognised methods and proper equipment.

Typically three working days, with a maximum of seven working days where a product needs to be repaired or replaced.

You can opt into the Comprehensive Support Extension Program, which continues coverage - including all firmware and software updates and all service and support calls - for a further three years. Without it, support is still available but on a paid, per-call basis.

There are two routes. A one-time fee of 10% of the final bill value covers all three additional years, but this option is only available if paid at the time of initial system commissioning. Alternatively, an annual fee of 7% of the final bill value, paid before the two-year mark for year three and again before the end of years three and four to stay continuously covered. Coverage begins once the warranty document is signed and payment for the chosen option is realised.

Yes, through the annual 7% route. The one-time 10% option is only offered alongside initial commissioning; after that window, the annual option is the way to continue coverage.

Support is still available, on a paid basis: ₹1,000 per service call plus applicable taxes, with materials, parts and consumables charged at actuals.

A further five years of support is available on a man and material basis - ₹1,000 per service call with materials charged at actuals.

Keus strongly discourages this and it is only considered in rare cases. A Keus motor has the Zigbee chipset built in, which is what enables percentage control and precise operation - a third-party motor bridged in through an external module cannot do that. It also tends to cost more, not less, once the bridging module is accounted for, and it splits accountability between the fabric vendor, the motor manufacturer and Keus.

No. AMC applies to automation only. After the lighting warranty ends, support is on a paid man and material basis: ₹1,000 per service call, materials at actuals. AMC and paid repair programmes also do not extend to third-party products - those need to be routed to the respective manufacturer or an authorised service partner.

Support continues until a product is formally declared End of Support, in line with industry practice. Keus commits to declaring End of Support at least twelve months in advance, so you always have notice.

Not necessarily. Updates under paid post-warranty support may be limited to support and stability fixes rather than new features or upgrades.

Over the air. A Sentinel Hub update typically takes 15 to 20 minutes, during which the hub stays online and fully operational with no disruption to service. Updates are only carried out after confirmation from the customer, so nothing is applied without your consent.

For locations other than metro cities and state capitals, travel and stay costs are charged at actuals, even when the visit itself is covered under warranty or the Extension Program. The service, support and parts cost remain covered; travel and stay are billed separately.

Access, service or removal of Keus products by unauthorised personnel; damage caused by customer-connected external equipment or faulty adapters; unpaid service, material or extension invoices; and failure to provide safe working conditions or site access for Keus to carry out maintenance. Unauthorised disassembly, exposure to harsh chemicals or solvents, physical impact damage, and use beyond the IP43 rating also void it.

Damage during transport or relocation, deliberate or wilful damage, natural disasters and force majeure events, unauthorised repairs or alterations, and damage from unstable site conditions such as power surges, voltage fluctuations or water ingress.

No. Services relating to electrical work, wiring, painting, civil works, glass work, carpentry, AC work and media systems sit outside the Keus warranty and service policy. Any such request - relocating previously installed components, for example - is charged on a man and material basis.

Safe and appropriate working conditions, access to all parts of the installation, and any support equipment or personnel needed for the job - step ladders, scaffolding, a site electrician, carpenter or project manager as the situation requires.

Warranty and support are suspended until any overdue payment is cleared.

There is no specific speed requirement. What matters is a stable, good-quality broadband connection with a capable router and consistent Wi-Fi coverage, since the network is what the system runs on day to day.

Super-admin rights are transferred to the new owner through a verified Keus process, and the AMC and licences can generally transfer with the property. Raise the ownership change with Keus support so it is handled securely, rather than informally handing over login details. A transfer charge of Rs. 10,000 plus 18% GST applies.

Home automation is one of the few purchases you genuinely cannot judge from a catalogue or a slide deck, which is what an Experience Centre is for. Each one is built around two zones: a Condo, styled as real living spaces, where you walk through lighting, climate, curtain and security scenes exactly as they would feel in a lived-in home; and a Light Lab, where architectural lighting fixtures, finishes and lighting scenes are shown under controlled conditions.

Each centre is approximately 3,500 to 3,700 sq ft. The Hyderabad centre at Financial District is around 3,700 sq ft and is designed as an indoor-outdoor space.

All three centres share the same approach: a Bang & Olufsen Harmony System for the main AV experience, and Sonos speakers with a Sonos amplifier for multi-room audio. In each case, Keus automation and Ardeo lighting are the hero, and everything else in the space is curated around showing them properly.

The process is exactly the same. Instead of a demo at an experience centre, the Keus team comes to you with physical product samples and conducts an in-person briefing covering Keus, the solution and the company, walking you through the same material. The site visit and everything after it run identically.

A standard 4-gang box at 3-inch (76 mm) depth, fixed level and flush. This is the single most important site requirement. A 2-inch box will not accommodate the console module, and it cannot be corrected once tiling or cladding is done. Larger consoles may need 6M or 8M boxes.

Yes, KEUS offers dedicated on-ground service and support across Delhi.

From curated consultations and design collaboration to expert installation and ongoing care, our Delhi-based team ensures a seamless experience at every stage of your smart home journey.

Whether you're building a new residence or upgrading during a renovation, KEUS is the trusted choice for discerning homeowners and designers in Delhi.

Remote access - controlling your home from anywhere through the app - is a core feature of the system and needs only an internet connection. Keeping the app working as Android and iOS evolve, and maintaining the Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit integrations as those platforms change, is part of ongoing support. Voice integration is a supported feature of the Keus system rather than a paid add-on.

Under warranty or an active AMC, products are replaced free of charge, and you do not pay any difference between the original purchase price and the price at the time of replacement. The exceptions are damage from misuse, accidents, unsuitable site or power conditions, and force majeure events. Once the standard warranty has ended and no AMC is in place, replacement is chargeable.

Keus is built so that no single failure takes out a room. If the internet drops, voice control stops and the app works only while you are on the home network. If the Sentinel Hub goes down, the app stops but your Smart Consoles and Scene Wizards keep controlling their own rooms indefinitely, with no time limit. The smallest possible point of failure is a single device. Keus runs remote diagnostics first, most cases are resolved the same day, and a replacement Sentinel Hub can be dispatched within 48 hours of the issue being confirmed.

Yes. The Smart Console's backlight brightness is adjustable, so it does not disturb you in a bedroom at night. Raise it with Keus support and a technician can set the level in the system configuration.

Report any defect or damage to Keus as soon as you notice it. If you are planning a modification to the system, or have already made one, tell Keus immediately, because changes that affect how the system performs can also affect your warranty. Service or alterations carried out by anyone not authorised by Keus void the warranty.

Only up to a point. For Ardeo lighting, an Order Confirmation Note is signed at the site handover meeting and that document is final for dispatch. After it is signed, colour temperature, trims and reflectors cannot be changed. Anything you are still unsure about should be settled before that meeting.

The product is built and tested to last well beyond two years, and the warranty is a separate thing from the engineering. It is a financial commitment to put things right with a no-cost replacement if something goes wrong, and it reflects the cost of standing behind every home Keus serves rather than any doubt about the hardware. If you want that commitment for longer, it extends to five years for a nominal fee.

There is no fixed warranty period on the colour itself, because how it ages depends on use and care. Some change over time is natural, much like leather, and is part of the material's character rather than a defect. With regular cleaning and no harsh or acidic cleaners, the anodized finish ages gracefully rather than degrading.

Yes. Every Keus engagement - home automation, Ardeo lighting, and third-party products such as cameras and networking - is subject to the same standard force majeure conditions and the same policy on cancellation once an advance has been paid. All disputes fall under Hyderabad jurisdiction regardless of which solution was purchased.

Sentinel X is the current generation of the Keus hub and is now standard in all new installations. It is passively cooled, with no fan and no vents, which makes it completely silent and leaves no path for dust to reach the electronics. It runs about 25 per cent cooler than the previous hub, at 57.9 degrees Celsius at full load against 77.5, which means less thermal stress and longer component life. It recovers from a power cut in 27 seconds rather than two minutes, adds Wi-Fi alongside Zigbee and wired Ethernet, and builds surge immunity, voltage stability and Level 3 ESD protection into its power circuit.

Keus Home Station is the dedicated in-home control interface for a Keus system: a tablet screen giving you centralised monitoring and control of lighting, climate, scenes, curtains, security, cameras and media in one place, rather than reaching for your phone. It runs on an iPad, held by Pryzma, the Keus-designed pedestal or wall mount. Home Station functionality is included with Cerebrus X.

They are the two media and security controllers. Athena handles up to three televisions with deep network-based integration and two-way feedback, plus video door phone integration, which suits a home that wants television and doorbell control. Cerebrus X goes considerably further: unlimited televisions, up to 14 CCTV cameras, video door phones, amplifiers, AV receivers, projectors, motorised screens, Apple TV and Sonos multi-room audio, and it includes Keus Home Station. Cerebrus is the choice for home theatres and larger residences. Beyond 14 cameras, an additional hub is added.

They are the Keus retrofit modules, and the product line Keus began with. They install behind an existing switchboard and add automation to the switches already on your wall: Smart Control 1 provides a relay for on and off, Smart Control 2 adds phase-cut dimming for two light groups, and Smart Control 4 handles four. Because they sit behind a conventional switch there is no keypad and no scene control at the wall. Today they are used as accessories within a Smart Console system, for an extra relay, a dimmable floor or table lamp, or a secondary space such as a balcony, rather than as a whole-home solution.

Zigbee is fully wireless: the drivers and consoles run on standard live-and-neutral wiring with no additional cable, which makes it the simpler installation and the one Keus recommends wherever possible. DALI adds a separate low-voltage two-core control bus running to each driver, which allows per-driver dimming and grouping, with a maximum of around 60 to 64 devices on a loop. DALI suits very granular lighting control; Zigbee suits almost everything else and avoids the extra wiring entirely.

No. Keus is a standalone ecosystem built on its own Zigbee-based protocol between its controllers and the devices in your home, and there is no gateway or processor interface that would let an external automation processor drive it. Open protocols such as KNX can be bridged this way; Keus deliberately cannot. All automation logic, scenes and interfaces live inside the Keus system, which is what lets it guarantee how the home behaves.

No, and that is deliberate. Keus does not allow locks or other access-control devices to be put into scenes. Scenes can be run by anyone in the home, so including a lock in one would mean that anybody able to trigger a scene could also unlock a door. Locks are controlled individually through the app, with access permissions applied.

Usually yes. Keus can generally control standards-based smart glass film. Because different films follow different control standards, share the specification sheet with the Keus team before you order, and buy only once compatibility has been confirmed in writing.

No. Universal sockets are not permitted under BIS standards and are banned in India, so Keus does not offer them. The Keus Essential range provides sockets that are fully compliant with Indian electrical standards.

Centralised wiring puts all controllers and drivers in a single automation panel, which makes commissioning and maintenance easy without entering individual rooms, but needs much longer cable runs, more panel space and higher installation cost. Decentralised wiring places controllers above an accessible trap door in each room, which shortens cable runs, reduces voltage drop and cost, and isolates any fault to a single room. Keus prefers the decentralised approach for most homes, provided the trap doors are properly planned and remain accessible.

Every city where Keus operates directly is serviceable, as is every city covered by a Keus channel partner. Experience centres are in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. Sites outside city limits, whether in a direct city or a partner city, need confirmation from the Keus operations team before a project is committed. Outside the cities Keus operates in directly, a minimum project value applies.

Keus certifies specific brands in each category under its Works with Keus programme. Smart locks are Yale. Cameras are Honeywell and CP PLUS. Video door phones are BAS-IP. Networking is Grandstream. Multi-room audio is Sonos. Ceiling fans cover a growing certified list including smallFAN, Fanzart, Volaris, The White Teak Company, The Fan Studio, LUFT and Anemos, with the specific model confirmed before purchase. Gate motors are certified brand by brand. Anything outside these lists needs a compatibility check before you buy.

Sometimes, but it needs checking first. Keus builds around Sonos for multi-room audio, and existing speakers may still be usable depending on what they are, so share the details rather than assuming. An existing amplifier or projector can often be controlled, but the model must be confirmed before purchase and your AV vendor needs to attend commissioning. Streaming sticks such as Amazon Fire Stick and Google Chromecast are not Keus-integrated devices; they simply keep working on your television exactly as they do now.

The fabric, usually. The hardware, generally not. Keus supplies its own curtain tracks and motors, made to its specification and tested together, because that integration is what makes precise percentage control and reliable operation possible. Third-party tracks and motors are not supported. Standard motorised roller and roman blinds are supported, while specialised wooden or integrated blinds need to be checked against the system before you order them.

For lighting, the thing that matters is the driver: buy fixtures with dimmable drivers Keus can verify, either Zigbee or DALI. A beautiful chandelier with an unverified driver may dim poorly, or not at all. For fans, choose a standard AC motor or a BLDC model Keus has verified. Send the specifications, and where possible a sample driver or the remote, before you commit to the purchase, because Keus tests dimming on a sample rather than assuming it will work.

For the integrated categories, yes, and there is a reason. Cameras bought through Keus run tested, compatible firmware; bought elsewhere they often do not. Yale locks supplied by Keus come with the required Zigbee module and licence and are validated for the correct chipset and firmware, which a lock bought off the shelf will not be. The same applies to video door phones and networking. Buying outside the programme is the most common cause of a device that will not integrate.

Yes, completely. Keus is headquartered in Hyderabad, and every product is designed and built in-house by a team of more than 80 engineers spanning industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics, electrical systems, embedded firmware, hardware, cloud infrastructure and mobile app development. That depth is unusual, and it is the reason the system can be engineered specifically for Indian homes rather than adapted from a product built for another market.

Keus was founded in 2017 by Brijesh Chandwani and Subram Kapoor, two Hyderabad entrepreneurs who had previously built and scaled Beam Fiber, India's first consumer fibre-to-home brand. By its 2014 exit to TrueNorth, Beam Fiber had over 300,000 connected homes and was India's fourth-largest internet service provider. They started Keus to solve a problem they could not buy their way out of: home automation that was genuinely beautiful, intuitive enough for a grandmother to use, and engineered never to fail.

Keus operates directly in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi. Experience Centres are at Financial District in Hyderabad, Lavelle Road in Bengaluru and Worli in Mumbai, with an Experience Lounge at GK II in Delhi. Bengaluru and Mumbai opened in 2025 and are both seeing strong early adoption. Pune has had a steady presence for two years and is being scaled up. Delhi is the newest market, focused on luxury villas, large-format apartments and bespoke residences.

Three reasons that hold up. The hardware is engineered for Indian electrical conditions, with surge protection, wide voltage tolerance, and local operation that keeps working when the internet does not. Keus controls every layer from hardware and firmware to app, cloud and after-sales support, so one company is accountable rather than a dealer representing a foreign manufacturer. And service is local: Keus teams in your own city, working to a one-working-day response standard, rather than an importer's support chain.

Buying best-of-breed devices from different brands and connecting them is the system-integrator approach, and it brings well-known problems: devices stop talking to each other after a firmware update on either side, nobody owns the fault, and serviceability degrades over the years you actually live there. A Keus home runs as one engineered system in which every device has been validated by the same team. That is a deliberate design decision, not a limitation.

Keus describes what it builds as automation that is elegant, intuitive and invisible, and the design follows from that. The Elemental console is machined from solid aluminium billet and anodized rather than moulded in plastic, and the Essential range carries the same finishes onto the ordinary switches and sockets beside it, so the whole wall belongs to one design story. Most automation brands design the keypad and leave the rest of the wall to whatever the electrician sources locally.

Keus Zigbee OS is the platform that holds the system together: firmware, the gateway framework, over-the-air updates and built-in redundancies, designed for 99.99% uptime and to manage itself rather than demand attention. Because Keus builds the hardware, the firmware, the cloud and the app, a whole home can be commissioned, monitored, diagnosed remotely and kept current across its lifetime as one system rather than as a collection of separate devices.

A demo runs for about an hour and is by appointment. It is not a product demonstration: you are walked through a working home and shown how scenes behave in the spaces they were designed for, what a room does when you arrive, when you settle in, when you shut it down for the night, rather than being shown a switch and a feature list. A dedicated smart home expert is assigned to you and stays with your project from that first visit onwards.
